Suggested strategy, hierarchy and style
- Universal categorisation used for all areas of the show as there is a lot of overlap between superyachts and other boats of all sizes; ie a person searching for superyacht anchor chain would select anchor chain as the product and SYP exhibitors as the place to look.
- Two-tier category system with master categories and subcategories
- Subcategories can additionally have tags assigned to them, enabling us to add alternate names for products in that category
- The existing ICOMIA categories (prefixed with ‘IC’ and a four-figure number) will be populated in appropriate tags to ensure backwards compatibility.
- Tags may not be exposed to the end user in many situations but can be used to improve online search and clarify in admin tools where products should be categorised
- In the working model below master categories are in large bold font, subcategories have hollow bullets at one indent, and tags have solid bullets at two indents.
- Most master categories to be aligned with the well received revised 2023-24 DAME Awards categories but with some tweaks to language.
- Style of categories to be
- Upper case first word lower case rest of phrase (for accessibility)
- Plural (so search results will return for singular and plural searches)
